Dr. Axel Vargas is a practicing Anesthesiologist with extensive experience in the area of Regional Anesthesia, Interventional Pain Management, Minimally Invasive (MIS) Endoscopic Spinal Techniques, Endoscopic Spinal Stenosis and Discectomy, Sacro-Iliac (SI) Joint Fusion, and in general all Interventional Spine procedures as well as Neuromodulation techniques, i.e., Dorsal Column Spinal Stimulation and Dorsal Ganglion Nerve Root Stimulation.
His area of expertise includes diagnosis of various forms of acute and chronic pain conditions, Minimally Invasive (MIS) Endoscopic Spinal Surgery, Endoscopic Spinal Stenosis and Discectomy Surgery, Sacro-Iliac (SI) Joint Fusion, percutaneous discectomy and nucleoplasty, as well as Neuromodulation techniques, i.e., dorsal column spine stimulation.
He completed a Surgical Residency training at Case Western Reserve University affiliated Hospitals in Cleveland, Ohio and subsequently trained in the field of Anesthesiology and Pain Management at Northwestern University Hospitals in Chicago.
He is also quite versed in regenerative medicine techniques that include PRP and Stem Cell injections.
He is exceptionally highly skilled in the administration of the most complex Regional Anesthetic Nerve Blocks and performs all Diagnostic and Therapeutic procedures commonly used in the treatment of various kinds of pain.
